DREAM THEATER marked a historic moment in their career by welcoming back Mike Portnoy for their first concert together in 14 years at the O2 Arena in London on October 20. The show kicked off the band's 40th-anniversary tour, featuring an extensive setlist that showcased both fan favorites and deep cuts, some of which hadn't been performed in over a decade.
Portnoy, who co-founded the band in 1985 alongside John Petrucci and John Myung, had previously parted ways with the group in 2010 after a 20-year tenure. His return to the drum kit, replacing Mike Mangini, who served the band for 13 years, is a significant reunion that has fans buzzing with excitement.
The 40th-anniversary tour is being presented as "An Evening With Dream Theater", featuring two acts and an encore. The European leg will run through November 24, making stops in cities across several countries.
The setlist included 18 songs, with some classics, rare tracks, and live debuts:
This week, The Big Guy with the Big Show, The Lord, Nelson That Is, goes all in with To Fight For—a no-bullshit band blazing their own path with heavy grooves, spiritual grit, and real-world passion. No flash. No gimmicks. Just music that HITS.
