As most know, I’m a big fan of tv. Recently, Amazon announced the end of Freevee, and merged all their channels into Amazon Prime.

Even if you don’t have a paid account, the live channels (w/commercials) are free to watch. You just have to create a free account. I would rank their free channels 3rd, behind Tubi and Plex. I’ve had the NYPD BLUE channel running most of the night, and it’s a strong watch. The commercials are not overbearing.

For those that want to use the free apps to replace cable, here’s how I rank them:

1. Tubi
2. Plex
3. Amazon
4. Pluto (Great programming but far too many commercials)
5. Xumo (really good but you can’t surf around when commercials start.)
6. Sling (they have free live channels, but it’s a pain in the ass to get past the sales pitch to start watching)

Honorable Mention: Filmrise (great programming, but only on demand)
