A Milestone Album: "My Years With UFO"
Produced by Schenker and Michael Voss, the album "My Years With UFO" revisits the German Wunderkind’s formative years with UFO. Joining the band at just 17, Schenker’s prodigious talent shaped classics like "Doctor Doctor", "Rock Bottom", and "Only You Can Rock Me". His six-year stint produced iconic albums including "Phenomenon", "Force It", "No Heavy Petting", "Lights Out", "Obsession", and the timeless live record "Strangers In The Night"—widely hailed as one of the greatest live rock albums ever.
This 50th anniversary album features 11 reimagined UFO hits, backed by a core band of Derek Sherinian (keyboards), Brian Tichy (drums), and Barry Sparks (bass). The project boasts an all-star lineup of guest artists, including Axl Rose, Slash, Kai Hansen, Roger Glover, Joey Tempest, Biff Byford, Jeff Scott Soto, John Norum, Dee Snider, Joel Hoekstra, Joe Lynn Turner, Carmine Appice, Adrian Vandenberg, Michael Voss, Stephen Pearcy, and Erik Grönwall.
In this urgent episode of CMS News, Chris Akin shares the absolutely devastating news that KISS's original lead guitarist, Ace Frehley, has passed away at the age of 74. The legend died after being hospitalized for a brain bleed following a fall and his family made the difficult decision to turn off his ventilator. Chris pays tribute to "Space Ace," acknowledging his enormous influence on guitar players (alongside Eddie Van Halen) and the indelible mark he and KISS left on rock and roll, setting the tone for the 70s and early hair metal. It's a profoundly sad day as we continue to lose our rock and roll heroes.
