The Joe Perry Project is set to embark on an eight-date North American tour starting August 13 in Tampa, Florida, but the lineup has seen an unexpected change due to a family emergency. Drummer Eric Kretz of Stone Temple Pilots, originally slated to join Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry, will be unable to participate. Longtime Joe Perry Project drummer Jason Sutter will step in for the tour, which wraps up on August 23 in Port Chester, New York, with a special stop in Perry’s hometown of Boston on August 19.
Perry announced the change via social media on August 11, stating, “Unfortunately, due to a family emergency, Eric Kretz will be unable to participate in the upcoming Joe Perry Project tour dates. Longtime JPP drummer Jason Sutter will join the band for the immediate future, and Eric looks forward to rejoining the tour as soon as he is able.” The tour marks Perry’s first solo outing of 2025, featuring a powerhouse lineup that includes Aerosmith bandmates Brad Whitford (guitar) and ...
