KISS co-founder Gene Simmons has publicly apologized for remarks he made over the weekend that appeared to blame the recent death of original KISS guitarist Ace Frehley on the late musician’s lifestyle choices.
In a post on X earlier today (Wednesday, December 10), Simmons wrote:“
On reflection, I was wrong for using the words I used. I humbly apologize. My hand to God I didn’t intend to hurt Ace or his legacy but upon rereading my words, I see how it hurt everyone. Again, I apologize. I’ve always loved Ace. Always.”

British heavy metal institution SAXON has officially begun recording the follow-up to their acclaimed 2024 album Hell, Fire And Damnation.Over the past week, the band has posted a series of studio photos showing drummer Nigel Glockler, bassist Tim “Nibbs” Carter, and guitarists Doug Scarratt and Brian Tatler (Diamond Head) tracking their parts for the as-yet-untitled 25th SAXON studio album. The new record is tentatively scheduled for release in late 2026 through Silver Lining Music.
Frontman Biff Byford gave an update on the songwriting process this past July during an interview with France’s Riff X “Metal XS” program:
“Well, we’ve started writing the next album. I’m doing lyrics now. And I’ve got a lot of ideas from [Doug Scarratt], Nigel [Glockler] as well, and from Nibbs.
