BEST OF: IS SYDNEY SWEENEY A NAZI?! Leftist Lunacy & The Cincinnati Beatdown

Seth: "I mean, it's no accident that Sydney Sweeney's initials are SS."

Chris: "Holy shit. No accident. The mystery has been solved, Seth! They've been planning this since her birth!"

Bro, the world has officially lost its mind. Seth and Chris break down the “eugenics” outrage over an American Eagle commercial. Apparently, having blue eyes and blonde hair makes you a fascist now? We react to the absolute pigs on TikTok claiming Sydney Sweeney is a “Nazi propaganda” tool.

Then we get real—REAL dark—about the mob violence in Cincinnati and the “Good vs. Evil” war Chris says is already here.

TIMESTAMPS:

  • Blothar the Berserker and the Antarctic origin story
  • Seth’s sepsis “pit” of depression
  • Breaking down the “SS” initial conspiracy
  • Zyklon B and the TikTok “rocket scientists”

Do you think men have been “neutered” by the MeToo era, or are we finally swinging back to being horndogs again?

Did SickSense Just Become A Completely Different Band?

SickSense isn’t exactly interested in staying in its lane—and the new Funerals EP makes that painfully obvious.

Vicky Psarakis opens up about the band’s darker musical direction, the surprisingly personal story behind A Moment of Violence, and why chasing whatever happens to be commercially popular can be a fast track to sounding like everybody else.

Then the conversation gets downright nasty when AI music enters the picture. Suno, Spotify, musicians skipping the hard work, endless AI-generated albums and the question nobody seems to want to answer: what happens to music when the humans stop being necessary?

Add a new North American tour and a completely DIY approach to keeping the band alive, and this interview goes a hell of a lot deeper than simply talking about a new EP.

Does Asia Still Sound Like Asia? Harry Whitley Talks Indigo!

Walking into Asia as the new vocalist means stepping directly into the crosshairs of fans who know every note, every lyric and every inflection.

Harry Whitley doesn't shy away from that pressure. He talks about the John Wetton comparison, the challenge of performing the classic songs, and what changed when he finally got the chance to help create brand-new Asia music with Geoff Downes.

Then there's Indigo — the album that puts his own stamp on the band and forces the obvious question: can a new era of Asia actually satisfy fans who grew up with the classics?

Harry also gets into working with some seriously intimidating musicians, the band's chemistry behind the scenes, touring plans, fan reaction and why buying the music still matters in the streaming era.

There's a lot more going on here than just another new album interview.

HAIL & REKINDLE: The Week In CMS Roundup October 4 – October 10
Another week in the CMS meat grinder and the body count is high: classic metal fighting for a future that ain't nostalgia cosplay, concert tickets that could buy you a used Camaro, Quiet Riot handing the mic to a 23-year-old, Twisted Sister still screaming at the Rock Hall, Sebastian Bach melting down over AI for the VIPs, Big Dad Ritch still swinging after 25 years, Galactic Cowboys getting heavier instead of softer, and Seth and Chris turning a pharmacy runaround into open-mic warfare. Hail and Kill. Here's what actually hit this week.

THE CLASSIC METAL SHOW

CMS 9/26/26 LIVE: Is Classic Metal a Nostalgia Franchise or Does It Have a Future? Quiet Riot just hired a 23-year-old singer. Judas Priest is giving Sad Wings Of Destiny another 50th-anniversary treatment. And Jay Jay French is still asking why Twisted Sister can't get the Rock Hall's respect. Maybe the future of classic metal isn't what we think it is.

Did This 80s Rock Tour Just Prove Classic Metal Isn't Dead? Neeley and Chris tear through a chaotic week of live shows, wild backstage encounters, and time punching you in the face. Road stories with Dokken, Lita Ford, and Lynch Mob, run-ins with faces from two decades ago, binge-worthy TV, classic mob movies, and an unfiltered rant about people completely losing their minds over AI.

Are Classic Rock Fans Getting RIPPED OFF? Concert Prices Have Gone Completely Insane!
Metal isn't dead — but holy shit, the price of being a classic rock fan might be. The guys rip into VIP packages so stupid expensive you could damn near buy a decent used car instead, then pile on a chaotic tribute to a legendary frontman, 95-year-old sci-fi icons butchering metal classics, and watching your childhood heroes get older in real time.

Is John Torra Just The LATEST Singer To Inherit Quiet Riot's Impossible Job? Quiet Riot has a new voice — but is John Torra walking into one of the toughest jobs in rock? Legacy acts keep stretching band names long after the originals are gone, tribute-style replacements try to bottle lightning twice, and modern labels still can't launch young rock artists while yesterday's names get recycled forever.

Does Twisted Sister REALLY Deserve The Rock Hall? JJ French Wants Answers!
JJ French is back on the Rock Hall warpath, calling them out for keeping Twisted Sister outside looking in. Before anybody starts demanding an induction, maybe look at the damn numbers: was Twisted Sister a genuine force, or did Stay Hungry, We're Not Gonna Take It, and I Wanna Rock build a legacy bigger than the rest of the catalog?

THE CUT

THE CUT: Has Sebastian Bach Completely Lost His Mind Over AI? Sebastian Bach is throwing another massive temper tantrum onstage, this time declaring war on artificial intelligence. But is he actually standing up for real musicians, or is this just another washed-up frontman screaming at clouds because the world moved on without him? Meanwhile, Howard Stern has cut his broadcast schedule down to a point where he might as well be retired, leaving his remaining fans wondering why they're still paying a monthly subscription. Plus, a massive conservative festival implodes after no one buys the ridiculous VIP tickets, and Kid Rock decides it's time to drop a Christian album. THE CUT is only for paid CMS VIPs at
classicmetalshow.locals.com — you don't get this one on public Rumble.

CHRIS AKIN PRESENTS

Is Texas Hippie Coalition Bigger Than Ever After 25 Years? Big Dad Ritch Talks THC, New Albums, More Big Dad Ritch on 25 years of Red Dirt Metal, dual albums Stoned Cowboys and Band of Outlaws on Big Dad Records, outlaw-country influence, heavier THC, lineup, touring, songwriting, and surviving outside the industry machine.

ARE GALACTIC COWBOYS HEAVIER THAN EVER? Monty Colvin Talks "What Planet Are You From?"

Galactic Cowboys return with What Planet Are You From? (out 2026-10-09). Kickstarter, drummer departure, loss of Johnny after he recorded tracks, heavier/thrashier direction and double-bass drumming, songs Super Spreader/Blinders/Train Wreck/Love Rehab/Find Our Way Home, Houston release show, touring without label support.

THE SETH WILLIAMS SHOW

Seth Show LIVE! 10/7/26: Why Is Getting A Prescription Refill Such A Nightmare? Seth and Chris Akin dig into the ridiculous bureaucratic nightmare of Chris trying to get a replacement prescription, then pile on Quiet Riot's new singer John Torra and the scrutiny he'll take for being overweight, why calling people "fat" is still fair game while every other insult gets memory-holed, and Cleveland sports misery as the Guardians stare at elimination again — is smart management enough, or has Cleveland hit the ceiling without opening the checkbook?

Paramount And Warner Bros. Are About To Become Skydance — And Hollywood Just Got A Lot Smaller
Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery are moving toward completing their roughly $110 billion combination, and the resulting corporate entity will be called Skydance.

Hollywood is about to get a new corporate name attached to two of its most recognizable entertainment brands.

Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery are moving toward completing their roughly $110 billion combination, and the resulting corporate entity will be called Skydance. Paramount Skydance CEO David Ellison announced the name Friday, October 2, just days before the companies are expected to officially close the transaction on October 6.

And yes — Skydance.

Not Paramount.
Not Warner Bros.
Not Paramount Warner Bros.
Skydance.

That decision says quite a bit about where the power is going in this new Hollywood.

Paramount And Warner Bros. Aren't Disappearing

The important distinction is that the famous studio names aren't being erased.

According to Ellison, Paramount and Warner Bros. will continue to operate as recognizable brands underneath the new corporate umbrella. The stated reasoning is that both studios have identities and histories that shouldn't be diluted by the corporate combination.

So audiences will still see:

  • Paramount Pictures
  • Warner Bros. Pictures
  • HBO
  • CNN
  • CBS
  • DC
  • Nickelodeon
  • MTV
  • Comedy Central
  • Paramount+
  • HBO Max
  • Discovery's extensive television portfolio

The corporate name sitting above all of that, however, will be Skydance Corporation.

The legal name change is scheduled for October 6, when Paramount Skydance's Class B shares are also expected to move from Nasdaq to the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker SKYD.

That's a remarkable transformation when you consider the history attached to the names being combined.

The Strange Part: Skydance Was The New Kid

There's an almost surreal element to this.

Paramount has been around since the dawn of Hollywood. Warner Bros. has been making movies for more than a century.

Skydance is comparatively young.

David Ellison founded Skydance Media in 2010, and the company became a major Hollywood production force through partnerships with Paramount on projects including Mission: Impossible, Top Gun: Maverick and other major franchises.

Then Skydance merged with Paramount Global in 2025.

Now Ellison's company name is about to sit over both Paramount and Warner Bros.

That's quite a corporate journey for a production company that didn't exist anywhere near the beginning of Hollywood's studio era.

This Isn't Just A Name Change

The bigger story is what the combined company represents.

The deal brings together enormous collections of film, television, streaming, sports and news assets.

Warner Bros. Discovery brings Warner Bros., HBO, HBO Max, CNN, DC, Discovery, TNT Sports, TBS, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Food Network and numerous other properties.

Paramount brings Paramount Pictures, CBS, CBS Sports, Nickelodeon, MTV, BET, Comedy Central, Showtime, Paramount+, Pluto TV and its other entertainment operations.

Put those libraries and businesses together and you're talking about one of the largest entertainment companies in the world.

And that is exactly why the transaction attracted so much scrutiny.

The Merger Had To Survive A Legal Fight

The deal didn't simply sail through.

The U.S. Justice Department concluded in June that its investigation did not find that the transaction was likely to harm competition in streaming, linear television or theatrical film development, production and distribution.

But a group of 12 states subsequently challenged the transaction.

That lawsuit was resolved through a settlement, and a federal judge approved the agreement on September 30, clearing the way for the companies to proceed toward closing.

The settlement includes commitments involving theatrical film production, worker support and editorial independence at CBS and CNN. Paramount also agreed to release at least 30 theatrical films annually during the first two years under the settlement terms.

The Writers Guild of America also settled its separate litigation related to the transaction.

So the road to Skydance has involved considerably more than simply signing paperwork.

And Then There's The $6 Billion Question

One of the biggest challenges facing Ellison and the new management team won't be coming up with a logo.

It will be figuring out what happens when you combine two enormous companies that already have overlapping operations.

Reuters reports that the combined company is targeting approximately $6 billion in cost savings while dealing with roughly $80 billion in combined debt.

That inevitably puts jobs, duplicated corporate functions and overlapping businesses under the microscope.

And that's where this gets particularly interesting for Hollywood.

The new company isn't simply inheriting two giant entertainment libraries.

It's inheriting two giant entertainment infrastructures.

Studios.
Streaming services.
Television networks.
Sports operations.
News organizations.
Technology.
Advertising.
Corporate staffs.
International operations.

There will be enormous pressure to determine what stays, what gets combined and what gets cut.

David Ellison Is Putting His Name — And His Company — On It

There's also a very obvious symbolism to the decision.

The combined corporation could have been called Paramount Warner Bros. Entertainment, Warner Paramount, or something entirely new.

Instead, Ellison chose the name of the company he founded.

Some analysts have interpreted that as a demonstration of Ellison's control over the newly created entertainment empire.

But Ellison's stated explanation is different: he says the Skydance name provides a corporate identity while allowing Paramount and Warner Bros. to retain their individual identities.

Either way, the symbolism is hard to miss.

Paramount and Warner Bros. are the brands people know. Skydance is the company now sitting above them.

Hollywood's Old Guard Just Got Reorganized

There's something almost fitting about this happening in 2026.

For decades, Hollywood was dominated by a relatively small collection of legendary studios. Paramount, Warner Bros., MGM, Universal, Columbia and Disney became household names.

But the modern entertainment business has changed dramatically.

Streaming shattered the old distribution model.

Cable television has been under enormous pressure.

Movie theaters have become more dependent on major franchise releases.

Technology companies have entered entertainment at enormous scale.

And traditional media companies have been forced to rethink what their businesses actually are.

The Paramount-Warner transaction is another enormous step in that transformation.

And now, when the deal closes, two of Hollywood's oldest and most recognizable studios will effectively operate under the corporate umbrella of a company created only in the 21st century.

Skydance.

The name may be new at the top.

But underneath it sits more than a century of Hollywood history.

And what happens next could determine what that history looks like for the next generation.
