Death Metal Veterans Incantation Launch Food Drive on Ongoing North American Tour

The veteran group, fronted by longtime vocalist/guitarist John McEntee, is sharing the stage with Austrian blackened death metal act Belphegor (headlining), Polish extreme metallers Hate, and Narcotic Wasteland. The tour has already seen several dates, with remaining stops spanning Texas, Arizona, and California.
McEntee revealed that the idea stemmed from recent tour hardships, including inconsistent venue hospitality that left band members without meals for multiple nights. While fans rallied with support after McEntee publicly shared the issue, he reflected on broader struggles beyond the band's own.
"As a musician, I have had times when things have been tight, including the last few years, so I know how difficult it is to sometimes choose between medical bills and paying for food or housing," McEntee said. "I understand this is the life I chose and, in fact, I'm proud of it."
He continued: "There are others less fortunate who don't even have the chance to afford food or shelter. So, I decided to have a food drive at the remaining shows on this tour and donate to the local food banks in the venues' communities."
Fans attending upcoming concerts are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items—such as canned goods, dry pasta, rice, or other shelf-stable products—to drop off at the door or designated collection points each night. The band emphasized that no one should feel pressured if they can't contribute, given economic challenges many face.
"I know times are rough, and if you can't bring anything, I totally understand," McEntee added. "But if you can give, let's do our part to help out our local communities."
To make the effort effective, Incantation is seeking local assistance: residents in tour cities who can provide contacts for nearby food banks or volunteer to help transport collected donations after shows are urged to reach out via the band's social media or official channels.
The initiative highlights a growing awareness within the metal scene of supporting communities amid touring's demands. Incantation's move shifts the narrative from their own difficulties to collective action against food insecurity.
