Iron Maiden Finally Dragged Into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Sham – Another Hollow "Honor" From a Deeply Flawed Institution

LOS ANGELES – In what can only be described as a long-overdue and thoroughly unconvincing attempt at relevance, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has announced that Iron Maiden will be inducted as part of its 2026 class — a so-called honor from an organization that continues to prove just how disconnected, inconsistent, and poorly managed it truly is.After more than two decades of eligibility (since 2005), the British heavy metal legends are finally being ushered into this increasingly questionable institution alongside a wildly mixed bag of names that further highlight the Hall’s lack of clear standards and direction.

The full 2026 performer inductees include Phil Collins, Billy Idol, Joy Division/New Order, Oasis, Sade, Luther Vandross, and Wu-Tang Clan. A host of others are receiving Early Influence, Musical Excellence, and Ahmet Ertegun awards. The ceremony is scheduled for November 14 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles and will later air on ABC and Disney+.

Manager Rod Smallwood issued a polite statement on behalf of the band, acknowledging the inclusion of current and former members while emphasizing that Iron Maiden has always been about the fans first:

"We’d like to thank the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame for including us (and former members who were all part of our story) in the 2026 roll call of inductees. Iron Maiden have always been about our relationship with our fans above anything else, including awards and industry accolades. However, having said that, it’s always nice to be recognized..."

The band will be on the road in Australia during the ceremony (with shows on November 13 and 15), raising immediate questions about whether any members will even attend this overhyped event.

A Hall That Continues to Miss the MarkThis induction does little to repair the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s battered reputation as a sham organization riddled with politics, questionable choices, and years of snubbing some of rock’s most influential acts in favor of trendy or commercially safe picks. For a band like Iron Maiden — which has sold over 100 million albums, built a global empire on pure heavy metal power, and maintained an unmatched connection with fans for 50 years — this feels less like validation and more like the Hall finally admitting it can no longer ignore one of the biggest forces in rock history.

The organization’s opaque voting process, endless delays for deserving artists, and frequent inclusions of acts that stretch the definition of “rock and roll” have left many longtime fans and observers viewing the entire operation with deep skepticism. Far from being “music’s highest honor,” as the Hall’s chairman likes to claim, it often comes across as an out-of-touch awards show desperately trying to stay relevant.Iron Maiden’s massive 50th-anniversary “Run For Your Lives” world tour continues to prove where the band’s priorities truly lie — on stage, delivering epic performances to the loyal fans who have supported them for decades, not chasing approval from a Cleveland-based institution with a shaky track record.

While the band members — Bruce Dickinson, Steve Harris, Nicko McBrain, Adrian Smith, Dave Murray, Janick Gers, and the former members being recognized — undoubtedly deserve every accolade that comes their way, this particular one arrives with all the weight and sincerity the modern Rock & Roll Hall of Fame can muster: very little. In the end, Iron Maiden doesn’t need the Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame, however, desperately needs bands like Iron Maiden to lend it any remaining credibility.

75-Year-Old Grandma Picks The Wrong Shift Leader At Tim Hortons (VIP)

Neeley and Chris dive into the bizarre legal fallout of a Tennessee school board member facing criminal assault charges after a context-dependent comment to a student. Was it a predatory move, or did an algorithmic outrage mob just destroy a 20-year career over a colloquial phrase? Immediately following that, the hosts react to the shocking viral footage of an elderly woman engaging in a physical brawl with a Tim Hortons shift leader. We break down the footage, look at who threw the first punch, and ask the uncomfortable question: Has public decorum officially collapsed?

Some say he made the smart move. Others think the timing raises questions that still haven't been answered.

And that's only the beginning.

We also look at George Lynch distancing Lynch Mob from Dokken territory, Sepultura preparing for their final career performance, Armored Saint joining Metal Church on a major co-headlining run, and why Angry Anderson still refuses to put Rose Tattoo completely to rest.

If you're watching this here, you're already late.

Something About This New Dokken Spin-Off Feels Incredibly Off! 2012

The classic era of 80s rock is fading, but what happens when the musicians themselves start tearing down their own legacy? We stumbled onto an unannounced, under-the-radar Dokken spin-off project featuring George Lynch, Jeff Pilson, and Mick Brown, and the results are... well, you just have to hear it to believe it. From helium vocals to sloppy guitar work, this might be the strangest rock release of the year.

If you’re watching this here, you’re already late. The full episode, exclusive third segment, and early interviews are already on Locals: https://classicmetalshow.locals.com

Is this a cool tribute to a classic catalog, or is it a cheap, unproduced cash-in that should have stayed in the vault? We break down the tracks featuring Sebastian Bach, Tim "The Ripper" Owens, and Robert Mason, and point out exactly where things went completely off the rails. Let us know in the comments if you think this damages the band's history.

Fans Really Aren’t Agreeing On This 2012!

Something about the way rock media used to operate just hits differently, but not everybody agrees on what that actually means for the scene today. A look back at how "metal experts" used to handle regional festivals has left a lot of fans completely split.

Some people are calling it the funniest, most authentic representation of raw rock radio culture out there, while others are wondering how this even made it to air.

Let's not pretend the industry is the same as it used to be. Today, everything is sanitized, corporate-approved, and deeply self-serious. But when you look back at how things used to be handled behind the mic, it raises a lot of questions about where the dangerous edge of rock media actually went—or if it was just a chaotic mess all along.
